JAARVERSLAG 2021
Het afgelopen jaar 2021 is een moeilijk jaar geweest voor heel veel mensen wereldwijd. Ook de mensen waar stichting Arun zich sterk voor maakt hebben veel te verduren gehad tijdens de nog altijd voortdurende pandemie. Vooral de kinderen en andere kwetsbare mensen in het deelstaat Arunachal Pradesh in India . Ondanks alle beperkende factoren, heeft Seva Kendra haar werk voor een deel kunnen voorzetten met de steun uit Stichting Arun vooral de school voor dropout meisjes en vrouwen.

Hieronder hebben we een verslag van het verschillende projecten ondernomen door Seva Kendra, in het Miao diocese.
DEVELOPMENTAL WORK IN THE DIOCESE OF MIAO THROUGH SEVAKENDRA
- Skill training for school dropout girls from February 22 to June 22
10 School drop out girls were admitted during the first period from February to June for the tailoring. They were taught skill training on tailoring, house keeping, basic English and healthy food practices by promoting backyard gardens. These girls as we know are from the remote places of Arunachal Pradesh and have less access to earn their own livelihood so we took this opportunity to train them tailoring and along with it some good practices.
- Skill training for women from July 22 to October 22
The second batch of tailoring have just completed their theory and practical examination and now they will be receiving the certificate on 19th of this month. We could manage to get for them the sewing machines by local funding agency.
- Water facility for Namsai and Wacro:
We have made available water facility in Namsai and Wacro for the hostel students. These two missions are so grateful for availing this facility. These hostel students are from the remote villages who have no access to better education.
- House for wood carving and Arecanut leaves plate making:
We had a bamboo house for wood caving which was destroyed during floods and cyclonic wind so it was rebuilt and furnished. In this area arecanut cultivation is done but the leaves are not made use so we have taken initiative to make plates and bowls out of it. We have announced to the farmers that we will purchase the leaves and make use of it. The house was renovated from this funds and The Plate making machine was purchased from this funds. It was blessed by the bishop P K George.
